No. The chance to become a victim of another crime, violent or not, is far higher. I'm actually more afraid of getting ill or something happening to my wife or friends. Being falsely accused must be terrible though.

This is actually common practice in academia. I think the "muh false accusation" is embarrassingly idiotic but whenever I meet with a female student I either make sure someone else is in the room or make sure the door is wide open with both of us visible from the hallway. I don't even like meeting with female colleagues in secluded settings -- it makes me mildly uncomfortable.
