Which of Europe's two largest Germanic countries, United Kingdom and Germany, do you like better?

Hard to say, I've been to both, have family from both, I like both, so it's a draw.

Basically a draw. I love both countries so much. Germany is great for experiencing a different culture and getting to practice my German, but its not bad to have no language barrier in the UK.

This is indeed a tough one. I speak a little bit of German and have been interested in visiting the country since taking German in middle school and high school, but I have always had an appreciation for the British. Though, that appreciation has dwindled since the Brexit vote. Germany meanwhile, politically, has been making great strides into becoming a bastion of tolerance, but the AfD gaining seats in the Bundestag is also pretty problematic and reflects poorly on them too. Both also have created negative consequences for the entire world, historically. Neither of their cuisines are really my thing either. Supposedly Berlin is becoming the new London though. But there is more to the United Kingdom than London, whereas I'm not too sure where else I would want to visit in Germany. It's a close call but I'm ultimately going with the United Kingdom.

Close call.  My German ancestry tips the scale, voted Germany.

This is a really tough one, I really like both; but I'm probably going to say Germany.

The United Kingdom, mostly due to its old architecture. Much of Germany's cities were destroyed during WWII, so to me, much of Germany looks too sterile and modern.

I've been to both; however, I lived in Germany for five months and loved it.  I'd have to go with Germany.

This for me, too.  Both are awesome countries that I feel very lucky to have visited.  If we were strictly talking living, my vote would change to Narrow UK.

At first, this seemed like a tough choice since both countries are excellent and have contributed so much to world history and culture (good and bad). I also love the scenery, history, and literature of both countries. However, after consideration, I have concluded that the UK is my preference. The United Kingdom has four distinct nations within it, some very well preserved historical architecture, has been home to the overwhelming majority of my favorite authors and poets, shares my language (although I'd love to practice more of my limited German and find that language wonderful), a more preferable climate (controversial opinion, I know), promoted Corbyn to leadership of the Labour Party, and would simply be a more comfortable cultural fit for me.

As long as Scotland is still part of UK, UK it is.

The day Scotland pulls its own Brexit, Germany.
