What is your idea "better shape"? Oklahoma Democrats aren't likely to have much substantial power (beyond maybe a short stint in an executive office or two) for the foreseeable future, whereas Texas Democrats will probably see increasing amounts of influence over the next 20 - 30 years, which may culminate with a local partisan realignment.

I think by that definition that means TX Democrats are on better footing. While I'm the last person to ask about their internal issues, I don't often see much that suggests they are supremely dysfunctional or anything. If that is the case, then imo it boils down to other factors like future viability.

TX. Democrats have come closer to winning statewide. Oklahoma has become more hostile to Democrats.

I’m gonna buck the trend and go Oklahoma here. Oklahoma Democrats are actually winning, and cutting down GOP margins where they’re not.

Oklahoma Democrats have a better chance of winning a gubernatorial race in 2018, but TX Democrats have a much better chance at being competitive over the next 20 years.

In the long term, prospects obviously look better for the Texas Democratic Party, but in the short term, local Ds in Oklahoma are doing much better than Ds in Texas.

OK's Democratic party is doing so well right now for two reasons that don't apply in Texas: 1) OK's Republican party representatives has been embroiled in pretty bad scandals and 2) OK's Democratic party did so poorly during the Obama years that they have a lot more winnable, low-hanging fruit there than they have in Texas.
