How I wish I didn't have to live in a limp, silly Republic.

As opposed to what, non-silly constitutional monarchies like the UK? Have you been paying attention to what's been happening there over the past few years?

What the hell, how about go all the way and live in an absolute monarchy? I've heard Saudi Arabia is just lovely. By all means, move!

These types seem to think the monarch would side with them, for whatever reason.

Oh how I wish I could transport them back to 17th century England. Tongue

You have it all wrong. It is monarchies, with their excessive frivolity and foppery, that are limp and silly. By contrast, a republic instills sobriety and cultivates republican virtue among its citizens.

What is good government and bad government is dependent upon collective action by both authorities and those they have authority over. A people who do not desire or seek knowledge cannot expect to live in a proper republic that they can like and approve of.
