Classic Era (which for me is seasons 2-9) Simpsons is probably the best TV show in history.

The Simpsons used to be the funniest thing on, Family Guy was NEVER the funniest thing on even during "ye goode olde days before the cancellation and it coming back wrong".

This seems like such a ubiquitous view. I love old Simpsons, although I might say that maybe up to season 13 or so was alright. Given how consistently their ratings have dropped for years now, and how consistently people seem to say that the first 10 seasons or so were the best, I'm surprised they haven't tried to emulate the past more (or maybe they have and just can't do it).
