Video Game Eras, Round 5: Enter the PlayStation

This one was also done last year in commemoration of the N64's 20th anniversary. Bu with more people who were adults by this time now participating, it should be interesting to see what this does the results.

As for me, I'm going with cartridge system with the good controllers.

I have too many cherished memories of Mario Kart 64, Super Smash Bros, and Goldeneye to not vote N64.

Despite how bad the controllers are and the use of cartridges, my nostalgia dictates that I have to vote for the N64.

SNES was the last game system I got.  My limited interest in gaming at this point satisfied by getting games for the computer I already had rather than plunking down cash for a console I'd have only gotten for a few games.

I have to go with the PlayStation, because I have played more games on it. And everyone, everyone had to get Spyro in 1998.


That being said it was four years later when I finally got an N64, and though I only ever played one game on it (Goldeneye, which just also so happened to be my favorite Bond movie at a time when I was crazy about James Bond), my heart is with the N64.
