Never been to Memphis, but I spent a Thanksgiving in Savannah. Nice place.

Which one has less hot humidity, because it's going to be that one. Memphis has less afternoon humidity, while Savannah has less morning humidity.

Memphis is a hidden jewel of a city.  Midtown, the Zoo, South Main, the Blues, BBQ, the Grizzlies, its all great.

Savannah is a great place to visit, but it oftentimes doesn't feel very authentic thanks to the major influx of snowbirds.  Memphis has great history and architecture even compared to Savannah.  It was once the wealthiest city in the United States, and remained the wealthiest city in the South well into the 20th Century and this heritage is still reflected today - for example, Memphis has a great public park system that was built when noblese oblige was all the rage back in the 1880s, the oldest zoological society and symphony orchestra in the South, and some of the South's oldest, biggest Protestant churches.  Moreover, Memphis has a lot more authentic feel due to the continuing racial and socioeconomic tensions in the city - a lot of that has been whitewashed in Savannah, for better or worse.

Easy vote for Memphis, one of the best cities in the country IMO.
