It's very early to talk about the 2020 Democratic Nomination and the potential candidates, due to Trump's popularity.

If 2020 is a Democratic realignment then I could see the Wilson badge winning. Not Gavin Newsom though. Probably either a Midwestern governor elected in 2018 or somebody coming out of nowhere who lost in 2016 but has a strong background in Democratic Party politics.

Populist/Heartlander

A populist with experience will win the Democratic Nomination. My prediction.

CINC but also experience. Moulton or Kander would be great but they would be hit with not enough experience.

Picked the heartlander badge. I think it's about time the Democratic party bridged the cultural divide that started during the 2000's. I think experienced populism also goes along with that heartland badge. I don't think the Democrats will go with the Wilson option so soon after Obama. Democrats definitely want someone with solid experience.
