Bracket 1
Alexander, Lamar- (R - TN) -- Asshole

 Angry Grrrrrrrr

Why would you say that???

2 Reasons

1) Nobody in that field really appealed to me as an a-hole

BUT

I once met Lamar Alexander and he came across to me as a pompous conceited ahole. I do however have nothing against his politics.

Too bad so many of the biggest A's are all in the same bracket.  But even among those, Sexby "I Would Have Been Proud to Serve" Chambliss is the clear winner.

The media whores contribute nothing of lasting value, and merely romp around the public stage making spectacles of themselves (McCain is the archetype).

Finally! Smiley
May I also suggest Ted Kennedy, Hillary Clinton, Sam Brownback, and John Cornyn among many, many others.

I didn't participate in this because it's a bunch of people with no idea what they're talking about saying some people are classy and others a-holes. How many of you have met these people?

Just for example, Trent Lott is a nice guy. He's actually pretty accessible, too. In fact his niceness was one thing people didn't like about him as majority leader. In any case, I've talked to some of these people, seen them at work a lot... it's not always about their political ratings from interest groups.

Now, there are some a-holes. Kennedy and Kerry are both complete and total asses. Durbin more or less is, ditto for Boxer. Biden can be. Schumer pretty much is.

On the GOP side, there aren't many. DeMint is not exactly a charmer but he isn't an a-hole. Bunning is just out of it so he doesn't count. McConnell isn't exactly Mr. Nice Guy all the time but a-hole is too strong.

The hate for Chambliss and Vitter is odd, well at least Chambliss I understand is because of a campaign ad he didn't write, but still that has nothing to do with how he is in person. Vitter is a nice guy.

I'm sure he protested his campaign's tactics bitterly, but his advisers refused to pay him heed.  And his advisers fed him statements during his speeches, which he was forced to repeat against his will.

Poor Sexby.  He's just misunderstood.

There was no one I really hated in that category, so I just picked some random Republican who I didn't agree with politically (plus Zell Miller secretly supported him Smiley).

This is one reason I haven't said anything: lack of information. What do you have to say about NM's two Senators? I'd say Domenici is a Class Act and I have no idea about Bingaman (although King put him as an a-hole and has refused to tell me why Wink ).

Don't know if it's too late or not, but I'll jump in on this one -

1.
Class Act - Bond
A-hole - Biden

2.
ClassAct - Byrd/Brownback - Byrd gets the vote
A-hole - Chaffee/Boxer - Boxer gets the vote

3.
Class Act - Coleman
A-hole - Clinton/Corzine - nod to Clinton

4.
Class Act - Domenici/Dorgan - toss-up
A-hole - Durbin, easily (for whom I'd use a much stronger word/phrase than A-hole, actually)

5.
Class Act - Hatch/Frist/Hutchison - toss-up, really
A-hole - Feinstein

6.
Class Act - Inhofe/Kyl - nod to Inhofe
A-hole - Kennedy/Kerry - they share the same brain, so they both get a vote

7. Class Act - Lugar/McCain - nod to McCain
A-hole - Lautenberg is bad, but Leahy gets the vote

8. Class Act - Murkowski or Ben Nelson, toss-up
A-hole - Mikulski

9. Easy picks!
Class Act - Snowe, easily
A-hole - Schumer, easily

10. Class Act - Warner
A-hole - don't know

A Hole: Cantwell

Class Act: Collins

Class Act: DeWine
A Hole: Durbin

Class Act: Hatch

Class Act: Lincoln (biggest Class Act in the Senate!)
