This was a tough decision. I like everything about Chicago but the high crime rate/murder rate. But Las Vegas has high crime too, so that evens out.

Indeed. This choice is basically horrible weather vs. horrible everything-except-weather. While weather is important to me it can't outweigh literally everything else. Tongue

Chicago. I'm not sure if there is a single metro area in the US I would be less suited to than Vegas when you consider its weather, style, region, political, and cultural qualities.
