Michael Bloomberg (D) vs. Donald Trump (R)

Here we have one plutocrat against another. It's your imagination on how conditions are. I will add a poll to this thread.

I'd vote for Michael Bloomberg, but I can't say he'd win. I could imagine he'd be unable to generate any enthusiasm among Progressives and minorities, so whatever support he could take from moderate Republicans and Independents wouldn't be enough.

Trump would win, since the "Democrats are elitist" ads would write themselves.

Would Bloomberg run a campaign based on banning pop and mandating breastfeeding?

The utter trash known as Bloomberg would have no chance. The Green party would get at least the level of support given to Gary Johnson this year.

Let's see. An utterly corrupt plutocrat against the popular hero.

New York would be a battleground state.

Honestly, if Trump is like Reagan he could win 2 boroughs (Staten Island and Queens)  and all of long island!

My question is:  How the hell does Bloomberg make it through a Democratic primary in this scenario?

He already won Staten Island and Long Island, and Queens shouldn't be too difficult, combining that with a sweep of upstate New York, he will likely win the entire state in 2020.

He won Staten Island and Suffolk county. He didn't win Nassau, which if he has a good presidency in 2020 he can. Queens is more of stretch. It actually use to be majority Non-Hispanic White up until the 1990s.

I despise Bloomberg. To me he always represented the worst of both worlds politically. He did nothing for housing affordability and didn't care about people getting thrown out on the street yet had no problem trying to micromanage how much soda poor people drank while defending racist policing tactics like Stop and Frisk. Really his being pro-choice and pro-gay marriage are the only things I agreed with him on.

Many Democrats would either not vote or protest vote 3rd party if this was the matchup. Trump would win rather easily.
