Would you stick with your own party?  If you are a Democrat, would you vote for Miller?  If you are a Republican, would you vote for Chafee?

What about the rest of the nation?  We can safely assume that most of the Kerry states would vote for Chafee and most of the Bush states would vote for Miller.  WHICH STATES WOULD BE THE EXCEPTIONS?  Why?

Zell defeats Chafee decisively, 388 to 150.

Why would California, Washington, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Indiana, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Washington DC, and Hawaii be more loyal to the party than to ideology?

I'm pretty sure that Washington would probably go to Chafee - it's close enough that party loyalty would matter much less than social views, and areas like Redmond and Bellevue, important Democratic strongholds, would vote Chafee by significant margins.

I just can't see Seattle voting strongly for Zell Miller.

I'd vote Chafee.
