Valor, because we're the good guys....or something.

When we see a yellow gym we make a joke about how "the game is still getting errors, look this gym is yellow!  WTF does that mean?".

I imagine the bully/Trumptard faction trends highly with Valor if it's any indication on how people act online.

Instinct.

I've just been playing for fun - only level 20. Highest Pokemon is an 1886 CP Snorlax. Tried to name it "Chris Christie" but I ran out of characters. Sad

I started playing after the boy and the wife did, but we were very casual at first.  The boy got to 5 first and picked red.  Not wanting to influence the wife, we didn't tell her what he picked and I decided that if she picked blue, I'd go yellow so we can "fight" each other or whatever, but if she picked red, I'd go red too.  She went red.

Seeing how the numbers have worked out, I'd have gone yellow too if I was playing alone....I like being the annoying outsider guy.  But I'm Valor, and that means I have to act like a dick, invade gyms in a group, leave a single, CP 46 Evee (they are everywhere here) and move on to the next one....blasting Eye of the Tiger the entire time.

I don't mind playing the role of the asshole to a bunch of teenagers and twentysomethings, it's almost like I'm a natural at it or something Wink

voted instinct, because that's the team my son is on.

I don't watch it.

Since this came out, I see people riding bicycles and skateboards, not looking at the oncoming traffic, with the handlebar in one hand and a smartphone in the other.  Bad scene.

Also, apparently some joker actually tried to portray it as a way to get people to exercise.  Here's a clue:  exercise has nothing to do with holding a smartphone in your hand.  Now I see guys on motorcycles going to "hot spots"  No joke.  There was an article just the other day about some jackass who ploughed into another car trying to drive while playing this stupid game.  Exercise.  Yeah, that's exercise.

If I had any say in the matter, I'd forbid it.  I'm not opposed to violent video games in principle, and am much more forgiving of the boy when he stumbles upon some particularly violent ones, but my wife opposes them.  Astonishingly, however, not only does she approve of this one, she seems more addicted to it than he does.  My wife actually seems more addicted than my son, and at all hours calls him in and says, "here, can you catch this?" or something of that nature.

Not a fan, but I have to admit that I'm an enabler.  Just today I walked a mile with him through a cemetery so he could grow, or hatch, a turd, or something like that.  Very excited he was.  Absent this game, we'd be cycling together, or swimming at the club, or even reading a book.

It makes me exercise outside instead of staying inside on the treadmill, gets you talking to people you normally wouldn't who are congregated at clustered Pokestops.

What I find amusing is that the 40+ age group (which seems to be the biggest group that complains, and not saying all people do) were always saying "those kids need to get outside" and then when people go outside it's "they need to get off their phones when outside because I was deprived as a kid and didn't know it so everyone should be too".

haha.

Seriously, though.  It's creepy.  I'm not joking about the guys in cars and motorcycles--which seems to defeat the purported benefits and marketing of the central conceit--and I'm not joking about seeing guys on skateboards and on bicycles paying more attention to the game than to the cars about to smash into them.

You don't have to be a cranky, suburban, middle-aged, mildly intoxicated, white-collar version of Peter Griffin to see that this is an accident waiting to happen.

What is my son doing right now?  He's sitting on the sofa with my wife's phone trying to grow a newt's testicle into a palm tree to get more life energy.  Or something like that.

Creepy.

I imagine you look just as creepy to them. A spazzed out old white guy staring intently at young people calling them creepy!
