Hillary has literally argued that she can't be considered part of the Washington establishment because she's a woman. To anyone that actually believes in equality of the sexes, that's f**king bulls**t.

Young, white, liberal males are the "everything or revolt" type that turned on Obama really early during this tenure as President. They want left-wing policies and don't want to be told that it can't happen. Clinton is telling them that it's not possible, and what Obama (whom they feel betrayed by) accomplished should be defended and expanded. They identify with all of Sanders' criticisms of Obama and love his policy proposals, no matter how unrealistic they are, because they are the most left-wing proposals to be proposed by any candidate, and they love his rhetoric - it identifies the bogeyman (Wall Street) as the one bad guy, the source of all of their ails (and young, white men have many...). When everyone in a hive mind have one clear bad guy, they start all thinking alike and become openly hostile to all dissenting opinions.

Hillary has literally argued that she can't be considered part of the Washington establishment because she's a woman. To anyone that actually believes in equality of the sexes, that's f**king bulls**t.

Not really. She has been through things that no man can ever or will ever understand; systems and structures in the West work against women rising to positions of influence. We take for granted Hillary's presence because she's been in the spotlight for so long, but the truth is, Hillary was able to seize a special opportunity to work extremely hard (harder than a man) to get where she is now. Few women have that opportunity, and few women make it as far because the deck really is that stacked.

So you can't tell me that these experiences don't set her apart from the rest of the "establishment," which is mostly a gentlemen's club. They certainly set her apart from every single president the United States has ever had. I mean, she may be part of the "establishment" in the sense that most of the party elite want her to be the nominee, but it doesn't mean she's going to be the same old typical Democratic politician or president. She brings something to the table that no man could, and because it's been a man's game for so long, she is an outsider... even though she's been "in" for so long.

If you're interested in a quick read about outsiders and insiders and advantage and privilege, I'd suggest Anthony Stewart's Visitor: My Life in Canada. Stewart is a black, native-born Canadian who is technically "in" as a Canadian citizen but always felt like a visitor. He looks at advantage and privilege mostly in terms of race, but I think a lot of what he says is applicable to a range of contexts. Hillary is "in," but I reckon she's still an outsider in a lot of ways, much like how Senator Gillibrand has noted that she's been belittled and demeaned by colleagues in the senate. People turn a blind eye to it because she's "Queen Shillary" (rebuffing casual sexism has never been a strong suit of the Atlas Forums), and Hillary doesn't often bring it up because she's thrown to the wolves by the loud voices of men when she does, but there are reasons why it would be significant and meaningful to elect the first female president. Funnily enough, the fact that people basically spit in her face whenever she talks about that significance speaks to, I think, those exact reasons. And it's a shame that the Bernbots don't understand... but I guess it means that this is one area where Hillary is pretty objectively the true progressive.

Look at how easily and casually you delegitimized the conclusion Hillary has drawn from her lived experience that being a woman makes her an outsider. That, right there, is why she is one.

Hillary has undoubtedly faced unfair sexism from media, conservatives, mainstream dems, and Bernie bots.

However, the Clinton family is one of the most powerful political families in the entire world, no question, and probably the most powerful, well-connected family in Democratic politics.  She's ing obviously in the establishment.

Being in the establishment doesn't automatically make you bad; Hillary's fought for some great things over the years.  But researchers like Martin Gilens, Lessig, etc make powerful arguments for a sick, ailing democracy.  Hillary is in a very comfortable position within that sick, ailing democracy - she could be pushed into heroic action, and if she was she has the genius to reform the political structure, but she'd have to be pushed really hard.

Hillary Clinton is to (young) men roughly what the thing below is to birds:

An off-putting scarecrow.

Whenever she talks, (young men) only hear this:

... and want to jump out of a window.

As for the "why": ask a behavioral scientist.

Didn't you hear? SJW's on Tumblr say all men are misogynists, so that is why men hate Hillary!

/s

But she really isn't all that likeable to begin with.

Strength, intelligence and knowledge. It'd be good to see you not be so negative ... "Blaxiciasian" all of the nasty sexist terms you've used.

I think you're better than this. FTR I get not liking Hillary, but your attitude and other has been really vile and not doing your cause any favors.
