It seems to me we now have a five-way battle for Trump's runner-up...

I'll say Kasich edges Christie.

No clue...

It's a three-way tie between Kasich, Christie and Cruz (Armageddon scenario for GOPe).

The most interesting thing in my view is that the candidates each sort of did well enough to establish an equilibrium.

Rubio was the favorite for second place. He tanked.

Cruz and Kasich were competing for third. Cruz pretty much was unaffected. Kasich did well, except...

...that Bush and Christie did better. Bush held his own against Trump, and Christie CRUSHED Rubio.

So the people with the biggest advantage did the worst and the ones who were furthest behind did the best.

So I have no idea what's going to happen.

Yeah, the race for second is extremely exciting. Rubio could still get it if the gaffe only halts his momentum rather than makes him collapse, or if the Rubio hacks are right and nobody cares. Christie's win could rocket him from a nearly assured 6th place to 2nd. Unaffiliateds could boost Kasich to 2nd. Cruz could if the establishment is split enough. Hell, even Jeb's millions could make a last minute difference.

Apparently a WMUR focus group thought Bush and Kasich did best while Rubio tanked. At this point, I'm thinking Kasich might actually pull a second place finish out of his hat.

Kasich. If not, either Christie or Rafael.
