I've got a slightly unusual pick...Loretta Lynch.

She's a leader on issues that Democrats might want to emphasize, can excite African American voters, would guarantee a milestone for women, and hasn't been as controversial as Eric Holder.

What makes this question "inevitable"?  Biden will not run, and if he does, he will lose to Hillary.

Tammy Baldwin could be a very interesting, outside of the box choice.

Biden is obviously better than Clinton, and will do so much better than Clinton in OH, Va & fL

Niki Tsongas and Joe Patrick Kennedy III are two "dynasty" moderate Representatives that would help energize the campaign.

Niki Tsongas will be in her 70s, and has been a generic Congresswoman from a very liberal state. I don't see her as a national figure.

Consdiering that Biden's been in Washington for over 40 years, he's probably not going to need a dynasty running mate.

What about former Indiana congressman and former Ambassador to India Timothy Roemer?  From the Midwest, and is young enough.
