I'm thinking Castro to balance the ticket out agewise though Hillary supporters might insist on his picking a women.

Probably Kirsten Gilibrand or Amy Klobuchar.

Both are women familiar with the national spotlight, who pass the qualifications threshold.

Hilda Solis looks great on paper. She's a Hispanic woman who served ten years in Congress, and four in the Obama administration as Secretary of Labor.

Amy Klobuchar is maybe the least charismatic Democrat in the Senate. She has no qualities that a dozen other Democrats don't also have, except a vagina, which a lot of other Democrats have too just not as many.

She would be a good VP candidate for no one.

Klobuchar, without question.

Omg Biden with a young attractive women as his running mate? there may be a slight problem with that lol.

Ideal running mate: Neil Kinnock.

Vice President Hunk/Senator Dreamboat!

Seriously, Heinrich is a young Hispanic from a good state. Ellison to appeal to the base, or Claire McCaskill to appeal to Clinton's PUMAs.

Is that a joke? Martin Heinrich isn't Hispanic and if he claims to be, people should laugh in his face.

Martin Heinrich is a White dude and the Democratic party will never nominate an all White dude ticket for president ever again.

Given the hopes of Hillary supporters for a woman President, he would have to appoint female running mate. Not doing so would be really bad politics.

Kirsten Gillibrand and Hilda Solis both sound like good choices. I've heard Wendy Davis being touted as a wildcard but the inexperience card would really work against her.

Biden/Warren is too unbalanced in terms of age - would be madness if the Republicans are running someone like Rubio.

Heinrich is as much Hispanic as I am Pacific Islander.

Heinrich will ensure a GOP senate; as Martinez will pick his successor, a GOPer. Castro is my choice.

Massachusetts isn't in play, and it would be a very old ticket. Warren underperformed Obama in her one election, and is likely to overshadow the top of the ticket.

Wendy Davis lost by 20+ points in her one run for statewide office. Inexperience is also an issue, but not the main one.

I also doubt Democrats want the presidential election to be a conversation about late term abortion.

Did Heinrich's parents or grandparents flee Germany for South America after WWII? If so that could cause some major problems....

A white guy is an unlikely match for Biden given the Democrats' focus on identity politics, but it does seem like Heinrich's family roots in the USA predate WWII, as a quick glance at his wikipedia page (and the links) would suggest.
