Cote d'Ivoire for its non-conformity in refusing to satisfice the "requirements" forced upon it by an American-centric world. (I respect them for standing up for their culture.)

Oh and also this beautiful moment of history - one of the greatest sports moments of my lifetime.

Czech Republic, because part of it's history includes a bunch of peasants led by a one-eyed mercenary general starting up Protestantism and the fight against the medieval Papacy a hundred years before Martin Luther. The Hussites were awesome.

Good grief, every other country gets is name translated into the language it's being written in. What makes them so special? We ought to demand that they call us the United States of America rather than les États-Unis d'Amerique in retaliation.

When speaking English, we don't call Germany Deutschland or India Bharat. Why should we call the Ivory Coast Côte d'Ivoire?

I'm the only person to vote for China? Good lord.

Anyway Cote D'ivoire is its official English name at bodies such as UN, and if it is good enough for the UN, it is good enough for us.

Costa Rica having so many votes is surprising, as are the (relatively) low totals for Cuba, China, and Canada.

"D" countries will unfortunately be a landslide, though I will be proudly backing the Dominican Republic.

A tie between Costa Rica and China, the only two countries on this list that I've been to.
