Blue-collar suburb of New Brunswick and New York City, a once manufacturing hub turned blue collar suburban community. Damaged by Hurricane Sandy in 2012, and still taking a while to recover 8 years later.

One of the premier swing towns politically in NJ, voted for Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden in 2016 and 2020; voted for Republican Chris Christie for governor both times in 2009 and 2013......

Home of the Starland Ballroom, Sayreville Sportsmen, Jon Bon Jovi, Sayreville Football Bombers who made national news in 2014 for a racial and hazing scandal; Jamaal Bowman attended SHS, and faced racism in the 1990s......
