I never used the word diet.  I said that he took our advice to drink more water and to cook more of his own meals.  In this case "more" is still woefully insufficient, of course.  I'm just pointing out that taking our advice on little things like that is something that he's done plenty of times.  It's just that the number of times he ignores our advice and doubles down on stupidity is far greater.

This wasn't a small thing though. He was about to get hooked into another scam job.

He's had several scam jobs already.  One more or one less scam job isn't going to alter the overall trajectory of his life.  If he'd taken this job, then what?  He'd have worked a few weeks for no pay?  That's bad, obviously.  But it's just white noise in Update-land at this point.
