Maybe the evolutionary benefit to gays in the modern world is administration. We administer the institutions that the breeders need in order to keep breeding.
That's an interesting idea. But I suspect it has something more to do with the fact that gay men (albeit the less campy ones) are abnormally well-suited to administrative positions because they have more reserved, considerate leadership styles typical for women without all of the baggage that comes along with wearing a skirt in the office.I hadn't considered this the way you stated it, but this is interesting to think about.
