Do you think this extrapolates to the rest of society?  Are young people interested in politics disproportionately gay?  In ten-twenty years, could the number of gay people in government be disproportionate to that of society?

Maybe the evolutionary benefit to gays in the modern world is administration.  We administer the institutions that the breeders need in order to keep breeding.

That's an interesting idea.  But I suspect it has something more to do with the fact that gay men (albeit the less campy ones) are abnormally well-suited to administrative positions because they have more reserved, considerate leadership styles typical for women without all of the baggage that comes along with wearing a skirt in the office.

I hadn't considered this the way you stated it, but this is interesting to think about.
