Unless you are an Islamist it would be difficult to find someone to join. There is no international brigade to receive volunteers.

But I thought the Syrian rebels were not Islamists and that just is a myth made by racist right-wingers who don't want to intervene in Syria because they enjoy watching Muslims die???

(Of course Politicus has never said anything like this, but several here have made that accusation against those who oppose intervention)

I haven't seen anyone ever claim that all of the Syrian opposition were secularist liberals. In fact most of them merely point out that there are varying factions in the Syrian opposition not just the Islamists.
