Guess Peter - he's funnier, and he's had experience running Petoria. Smiley

But Homer was the Mayor of New (or was it Old?) Springfield in the episode "A Tale of Two Springfields".

For what it's worth, the shows hint that Griffin is a populist Rhode Island Dem and Homer is a non-politician who tends to get swept up in bouts of patriotism (his views change inbetween episodes, per convenience.)

Homer supported Al Haig in 88, and Lenny voted for Bob Dole in 1996.

Homer is also best friends with Gerald Ford, though he doesn't like George H.W. Bush very much.

Yes.  At the end when Kang has taken control of the world, Homer says "Don't blame me, I voted for Kodos."
