In continuing on with this thread, https://uselectionatlas.org/FORUM/index.php?topic=175530.0

The previous thread had about 40 candidates, so I've taken the top 11 candidates and placed them in this poll. You may vote for no more than 5 of these candidates, and the poll expires in 1 week. After that, I'll post another poll with the leaders of these results. In this thread, we can talk about the relative strengths and weaknesses of the candidates that are just in this poll.

My post:
Out of these, my picks are Hickenlooper and Martin O'Malley. I think that Clinton, being out of Washington for several years, will try to emphasize that with a Governor as a pick instead of a Senator. Deval Patrick as the next option. Baldwin and Warren could be high risk, high reward options. Dean is interesting but also old, and two old candidates is risky. Castro and Booker are too new, and as of right now are not Governors or Senators. Al Franken is too risky, Mark Warner is too boring.

Kirsten Gillibrand just barely didn't make the top 11. Sad

Which means that there are just two women to choose between in the poll.

I'm surprised Gillibrand didn't make it the top 11. But also she's from New York the same as Clinton, so I consider it unlikely.

If McAuliffe wins he has a high chance of being her VP nominee. He's never left the Clinton's side.

Yes I'm glad someone else finally said this too. The Clintons and McAuliffe have been in bed for 20 years. She'll scratch his back and then he'll scratch her's.

Tammy Baldwin or Howard Dean would be neat. Al Franken even isn't the worst choice in the world (though not especially likely).

Chose Booker, Warner, Patrick, O'Malley, and Hickenlooper. Warner seems like the best pick of this bunch as an uncontroversial swing state pick with both executive and legislative experience. I like Booker as well because of the energy he brings to the ticket. He's probably the most talented politician of the bunch. The other 3 are typical, limited, and uncontroversial picks; Patrick helps bring along Obama's coalition, Hickenlooper helps in the west, and O'Malley is the liberal pick.

I don't think so. The Clintons know he's an electoral liability. He's much more likely to get a cabinet post like Commerce.

Debbie Wasserman-Schultz herself would be better than McAuliffe

Other:

In addition to her other qualifications (click the link on the picture), it doesn't hurt that she was a Clinton loyalist until the very end when Hillary Clinton ended her campaign in June 2008.

Win lose or draw it's going to be McAuliffe

No.

I voted Franken as he's my favorite in the group, but on the other hand, he's an excellent Senator.
