What happened there?
Thompson had a lead for most of the campaign, pretty confortable at times, and was suddently catched bad at a point and even lost by a bigger margin than polls predicted?

Bad campaign from him? Excellent one from Baldwin? Both?

Mostly Thompson ran an awful campaign.
