And what is it about being a smooth-talker and a "Community Organizer" that makes one uniquely qualified to be president? Oh wait, the last three and half years have answered this question...

As community organizer, Obama helped people find jobs and helped in a campaign to clean asbestos out of a housing complex, those are good things. Plus, Obama actually had a job before he entered political office, Ryan only worked for his family before he went to Congress.

Heck, even Bush had more experience with numbers.

Especially the number .10, tho today that would be .08 in most states. Wink

Many of today's Democrats remind me of those guys who were happy with turning an F into a D in the tough classes.

Not good enough, son.

At best, he's Jack Kemp, which isn't much. He's not really even getting half the hype that Palin got, which was way over the top.
Jack Kemp was old and ugly.

LOL, the Republicans wish they had someone as electrifying as Obama was in 08 or even is still today.

Or, you know, people thought highly of Obama because he was eloquent. Remember the "More Perfect Union" speech? If there's any skill a president needs in this bully-pulpit age it's the art of rhetoric; Obama started out well, then figured out how to condense his message into two words: "Hope" and "Change". Hard to see this in hindsight.

On top of that he had a campaign that knew how to sell him, a strong word-of-mouth operation powered by the Internet and an army of artists supporting him. Look at Romney's site right now and I guarantee you he cribbed at least three of Obama's 2008 campaign fonts.

Republicans haven't learned how to use the Internet well, and their attempts end up being the subject of ridicule first. And here is Paul Ryan, a politico of average talent, rising to power through longevity and quackery alone. In what way can you brand him differently from everyone else, if the Romney campaign, paranoid of their candidate's robotism, even allows it to happen?

Actually, maybe the Republicans should take a close look at all of their supposed intellectuals. The problem is all of them forgot rhetoric can be an art instead of a weapon drilled into one's brain. Without that, they are stripped bare to their uncompromising rich white men roots.

In 2008 the charismatic Obama offered hope and change.

In 2012 the deflated Obama offers no hope and pocket change.

I remember Winfield's fawning over Palin in the fall of 2008 very well.

...

No, I would counter that with the fact that McCain stated time after time that his VP pick would be the one most qualified to be President.

Clearly, Romney is qualified to be President.

Clearly, Palin is not.

Palin gave an awesome speech.

And yes, she is ready to be Vice President.

Well, I am most flattered that you would to this day recall my statements from as distant as four years ago.  I must have left a lasting impression.

Four years ago the Republicans were in a bad state of affairs, some would say hopeless.  So clearly I could not abandon my party in their darkest hour.  I therefore found it necessary to at least support the party ticket.  Fawning, however, is a gross exaggeration on your part.

I have stated on many, many occasions, however, that Palin was unqualified, and that is putting it mildly.

Hackery of your magnitude is difficult to forget.

Lies, as the quote in Griffin's post above can attest.  Though it's nice to know that your hackery is sometimes totally insincere.

Maybe four years ago. Most of the smart folks I know who were Democrats in 2008 are Independents today.

LOL @ all of the people who think Ryan is going the way of Palin. Palin is a once-in-a-lifetime train wreck. Odds are Paul is going to be the media rock star who replaces Obama. Obama fatigue is setting in, especially with all of these relentless talks about tax returns and how bad it is being wealthy.

Eagleton wasn't a lifetime ago.

Eagleton was a plane crash, not a train wreck. Palin was bad, but not so bad that she HAD to be taken off the ticket. Again, a once-in-a-lifetime type of thing.

Joe Republic, although I appreciate the fact that you follow my pronouncements so closely, the word Lies is a very nasty word to go throwing around.

I have been known to perhaps change my mind, to alter my opinion, to evolve politically, to make an incorrect statement, perhaps to use poor judgment, to use sarcasm, but not lie.

Can you produce this study?

Let's compare office holders in adjacent districts...
I give you Congresswomen Gwen Moore (Democrat-Milwaukee)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vfCUfvImQnE&feature=related
Vs.
I give you Congressman Paul Ryan (Republican-Janesville)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xwv5EbxXSmE&feature=relmfu

Let's compare congressional leadership...
Wasserman-Schultz vs Ryan
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&NR=1&v=F8T_m3ERkH8

You might be citing some outdated or inaccurate study, but you can't honestly believe democrats are smarter than republicans, or "they think with their minds and not their guts."  If anything Republicans think too logically to their own detriment politically.  Democrats on the other hand seem to only appeal to the lowest denominator possible, whether it be emotional, guttural, tribal, racial, etc.

The perfect Obama 2012 "fear and smear" surrogate? Hopefully she has a "song" for Romney/Ryan.
