In terms of record, yes. Palin was basically a blank slate as far as record went, since she hadn't done much as Governor, which was part of the reason she got criticize. Ryan has a record and a plan that Democrats can go after right this second and get calling out right up until election day.

No.

Palin was a pick McCain made when he knew he was going to lose so he picked the bigest joke possible.

Romney knew he had a quite even chance so he picked someone with actual credibility.

I can't believe people are being blinded by Palin's entire tenure as running mate, and subsequent actions after the election. Are we forgetting how Sarah Palin, as a blank slate, was a big boost to McCain's campaign and he was even leading in some polls after the pick? How can you guys compare two months of Palin to Ryan's eight hours? I think Palin, eight hours in as the running mate, and probably up to two weeks in, was a much bigger help to McCain than Ryan is to Romney right now.

Of course. Paul Ryan is incredibly dangerous; Palin is an ineffectual buffoon.

From Andy Borowitz's twitter feed:

Paul Ryan being sworn in as President would be a great last scene in a Planet of the Apes remake

Or a prequel to No. 6.

As opposed to Palin who actually helped McCain. Clearly, Palin was the stronger VP choice.

It's hysteria like this that reminds me that while I dislike Romney, Obama hacks are an unbearable species.

Unlike Mitt, oddly enough.
