Thomas.  Though I'm not a strict constructionist anymore, I still think the whole "living constitution" thing is stupid.

Of the current court? Ginsburg I guess.

The idea of anyone loving Thomas or Scalia seems terrifying to me. I can see why some people like Roberts, though. He often argues on his own independent of the actual two sides involved and possesses a remarkable ability to turn an argument in his favor. He's horrible, of course, but he's a smart corporatist Justice.

As always, try to understand these american politics polls as 'least bad' rather than 'favorite'..  it is very similar to gazing into the toilet boil critically after a movement.

why would Ginsburg 'disgust' you?  she's very socially/historically conscious.

Ah yes, Breyer.  He's the one who claimed that Thomas Jefferson and George Washington wrote the constitution, no?

Well none of them really. As a law student in a country that mainly practice civil law rather than anglo-saxon common law I'm not really found of judicial politics and to me every single justice that is more a politician than a jude is a complete disgrace to the legal profession. And since all nine of them clearly sees themselves as people making law rather than applicating it, they're all bloody awful to me. But then I guess it's just probably a difference of culture isn't it. It's an American thing that I simply don't understand, like rugby football, root beer, or abstinence.

Cuomo was actually offered White's Supreme Court seat, intially hinting he'd accept, but flipped at the end. Ginsburg's fine, but I'd prefer Mario.
