Option 2 - I'll be heading over to my parents' place. My sister will also be there.

Nope, they're all back in Aus, but i'm at an Aussie-run hostel (swim up bar, cricket net, slow internet, just like home) and there'll be a big christmas lunch, with Pavlova.

At a Chinese restaurant with part of the immediate family (mom, 1 brother).

My dad and I usually go out for Chinese food, as that is the only dining option available on Christmas.

Kind of stereotypical, isn't it?

If you would like to move to Memphis and open a subcontinent restaurant that stays open on December 25th, I would gladly eat there instead. You guys have much better food than the Chinese anyway. Fa Ra Ra Ra Ra....

I just want to make it totally clear that Chinese food is pretty good, and Indian food totally sucks. It has zero redeeming qualities. Of the three Indians I speak to on an (almost) daily basis, not one of them likes Indian food.

What kind of Indian food are we talking? The Indian person I'm closest too loves Punjabi stuff (granted, he's, uh, Punjabi and all, but I like it too).

Jack in the Box is open on Christmas...
Not that Chinese food is really any better, but I don't eat fast food, and we don't have Jack in the Box in Memphis.

I'm sure you can guess who I spent it with.  On the warm and fuzzy side she's a regular I've known a few years.  Actually I only spent the last hour of Christmas eve and the first couple of hours of Christmas with her.

The extended family. We had two dozen people over at our place, plus a couple of babies.

Baby humans?  Those are also considered 'people' as I understand the law and custom.

Hmmm quite right. The two dozen only counted those eating the meal.
