and...if the answer if yes, should we just learn to live with it and embrace its (few) positive impacts?

Another issue to evaluate is what has the cheaper price and higher reward? Adapting to or Stoping Climate Change.

No.  Curb in what way?  We don't even know what the eventual effects of it will be.  The planet naturally likes being in a stable state.  Eventually it WILL reset.  We may not be here, but it will happen.  So, what do you mean by "curb global warming"?

The world will take of itself.  It's just a question if we want to be apart of it.

Then I'm confident the answer is no - I don't see the earth accelerating into an infinite positive feedback loop.

I think it's clear that there is an unavoidable temperature increase - but the actions of today are designed to reduce the severity of that increase and allow for a decrease further down the track.

Not yet.  But it will be before we get around to doing anything about it.  I don't think human beings have evolved quite enough yet to have a large capacity to plan ahead very far.  When it comes down even to our own survival, we're still very short-sighted, reactive and, worst of all, combative with one another.  And that's not going to change quickly enough to allow us to undertake the large-scale efforts that would be necessary to avert a continuation down the road we have put ourselves on where global warming is concerned.

Mitigation is WAY cheaper than adaptation. Although numerous countries have already started adaptation projects because they see climate change as inevitable.

It's not binary. We don't either get 100% global warming or 0%. And given how many of our major cities are built at sea level (here's looking at you, lower Manhattan), we certainly need to do as much as possible either to prevent global warming or to prepare for its consequences. The Great North is full of unplundered natural resources. Man could adapt and even thrive. But are we willing to say goodbye to our old cities? FWIW, my hometown is more than warm enough already, thank you very much. On the other hand, Hudson Bay could be a phenomenal location for new cities if the climate could ever get warm enough.
