Something tells me Perry just had some serious debate coaching.

Did you all see Perry get booed/shunned/etc by the audience as much as I did?  I always question my judgement when listening to him because he's been the governor in my state for a over a decade.  It looked like he just got slapped back and forth.  The crowd appeared to be highly favorable to Romney.

Also, the other candidates need to give up on the Romney health care = Obama health care argument.  It is clearly not working

Mitt Romney is going to beat the second place candidate by 30-40 points in Nevada. The audience was very, very pro-Romney.

No other candidate received as many negative reactions from the audience that Perry did.  Bachmann, Gingrich, Santorum, Paul and Cain didn't appear to receive the same amount of negativity that Perry did.  Although that might just be because he did attack Romney more than the other candidates did

yeah, no one was booing Perry until he started to attack Mitt Romney.

Cain is very, very flustered on this question.

Cain knows he shot himself in the head 2 hours before the debate

Are you acknowledging that Cain did terribly and is probably going to decline from here on out?
I'm referring to the Blitzer interview before the debate

jmftsc, does your signature mean you've stepped off the Cain Train and are now waiting at the station for the arrival of the Romney Express?

First part: yes. Second, no. I'm going to guess he's going to take the Gingrich Limited to November Junction.

jmfcts was never really a true believe in the Hermancain. We Atlas Cain supporters will soldier on without him.

Listen carefully at the end...it sounds like Santorum felt bad that Paul didn't get to say anything at the end...

I didn't get to watch the debate last night as I was busy with a men's meeting at church.  I should be able to watch it this morning (Wednesday) and I'll give my feedback after I watch it.

Question

Why do all these people say that "Israel is our greatest ally"?

Answer

If there was a question on a test I gave and you answered by first writing "Question" and repeating the question I just gave you and then writing "Answer" and stealing off someone else, do you know what I would do to you? I would flunk you, that's what I would do to you.

Ah, but s/he cited their sources! So that makes this more akin to a research paper.

Anything interesting ? Was 999 attacked ? Did anyone win ?

Cain, Santorum, and Perry ganged up on Romney; Romney fended them all off. Cain tried to defend 999 with a weird apples-and-oranges analogies (someone put it in their sig) which Romney proceeded to blow to pieces. Santorum sounded angry. Perry sounded drunk. Gingrich continues to say how awesome his opponents are. Bachmann has been promoted to Admiral (but otherwise, I actually think she came in second after Romney; no real gaffes in this debate). Paul went anti-Israel, which can't be a good thing. There was a discussion about Mormonism where Romney gave a pretty good answer. jmfcst has converted from Cain to Romney.

Very Short Summary: Romney won the debate; Cain and Perry lost.

A lot of pics from this debate that would make for a good "caption this".  e.g.,

There's a "pull my finger" joke in there somewhere.

They all played slice and dice with the plan that will not be named. Romney, Paul, and Gingrich I'd view as possible winners.

Rick Perry should have punched him in the face. No man touches Rick Perry's shoulder without Rick Perry's permission. Especially not if that man is a Heathen and/or Devil-Worshiper.

What a slug fest! Mittens got a bit angry with mush-mouth for interrupting him, which was not too good. He got close to losing his cool, and Cooper should have intervened.

Cain seemed to have some theory that his tax plan will cause prices to go down so his little national sales tax will be painless, but he was totally incoherent on that point. Maybe he meant to say that the corporate tax is really a sales tax which when slashed will offset his VAT tax (some of the corporate tax is passed on to consumers in the form of higher prices, but certainly not all of it, particularly now when corporations are drowning in cash), but he never got there. Odd he can't sell his own plan.

Anyhoo, nothing changed. Mittens' grip on the nomination just gets tighter and tighter.  He needs however to avoid just saying the same thing over and over (e.g., the I'm a businessman, turnaround artist and know how the economy works, end of story mantra). That was his problem last time, and over time, folks feel that they are being sold a bar of soap rather than the considerably more complex product of a prospective POTUS.

Newt baby continues to be shrill, and he is really getting to look like a porker. He needs to go on the Torie diet. I wonder what his blood pressure and glucose count is. Heck, he's over 70 years old isn't he? At least he stayed away from ranting about "judicial tyranny."

Santorum was very good on the religion thing, but boy, "nuance" just isn't a word in his dictionary is it?  His story of his electability was hilarious. Santorum is a rather sad case. He has some strengths, but his weaknesses just swamp his assets, so his overall balance sheet is deeply in the red.

Bachmann's new pitch is that since any Pubbie can beat Obama, nominate her since she is the most extreme candidate, so why not go for the gold? Voters basically have her number now however. You really can't trust much of what she says. She's really big on hyperbole.

And everybody ignores Paul ... as they should. He's in outer space.

There is really no point in discussing Perry. He just keeps reminding folks that he does not have the "necessaries" to be POTUS.  There just isn't the horse power. Maybe it is not his fault. Maybe he should sue his natural parents for having substandard genes or something. I kind of feel sorry for him now. I expect his money stream to start drying up. Enough already!

jmfcst has converted from Cain to Romney.

no, rather jmfcst is in the hospital, recovering from injuries sustained during the train wreck.  he is felling disillusioned at the current field of candidates, wants to back Newt but can't stand the number of times Newt uses the word "stupid" and doesn't like Newt's hatred of the Federal Reserve.  jmfcst is even considering kidnapping Paul Ryan and thowing him on the stage of the next GOP debate.  in the meantime, jmfcst is thinking about invading New America and making it his home.

No they didn't, at least on two separate occasions I heard "I agree with Ron Paul" coming out of the mouth of Romney, and then everyone went to shake his hand after the debate (again, including Romney). By definition, if Ron Paul is in outer space, then Romney just launched into orbit to meet up.

Hatred of the Federal Reserve.... Newt Is catching up, albeight a little late, to Dr. Paul on sound money. I figured you'd have issue with considering the individual mandate regarding healthcare policy. Newt and Perry also said on at least one occasion that they agreed with Dr. Paul on one issue or another.
