I know this does not apply to me, but are we talking about non-Americans who are right-wing from an American point of view, or right-wing from their own country's point of view?

As a UK Conservative I back the Democrats 'nationally'; there are local Republican candidates who would get my support.

The 'national' Republican politicians are arguably more moderate on the whole than the local ones.

From their own personal point of view.

What's your rationale for saying this? There are hardly ANY moderate Republicans on the national level. Maybe a handful in the House and Senate but the vast majority are solid conservatives.

Not in my experience! But then again, I live in New Jersey.

I generally support Republican candidates. However, in particular cases I would not hesitate to support a pro-life Democrat with moderate views on the economy if I got the impression that the other candidates were less qualified.

Trust me, local politicians are even worse.
