I realize that you're trolling and harassing me at the same time, but I'll bite.  For now.

I made it pretty clear in the other thread that abortion is not a cut and dry subject, as there are far more shades of gray than simply black or white.  Whereas, as I pointed out in the first five words of my original post here, in my opinion that is not particularly the case with the death penalty.  They are separate and distinct issues.

Well you felt the need to derail the other thread to make it clear that you felt anyone who viewed the issue as black-and-white was a simple-minded fool, so my apologies for applying the same standard to you now.

Now that you've understood my clarification, your apology for misrepresenting me is accepted.

Not acceptable under any circumstance, even if the person in question is a monarch, genocidal dictator, or Limp Bizkit fan.

I hope there is definitely some leeway on some of these bro.  "Rape" has a wide connotation (according to the law), "rape" could mean some dude who kidnaps a 6 year old and repeatedly rapes them causing lifetime of trauma to or it could mean a consensual relationship between a 21 year old college student and a 15 year old in high school.
Just saying.

No. Glad to be from a state that doesn't have it.

Given the lenght of time you are functioning without the death penapty, Minnesota should be an example for other states.

I'm glad my country doesn't use the death penalty as well.

Oh, perhaps the way Ole South practicizied until 1960s? Tongue

The worst part about the death penalty is not the cruelty and uselessness, it is the delusion of its supporters (alas one that most who oppose the death penalty share) - they believe that the chaps in the jail are the ones responsible for crime.

Generally opposed, but this is not a pressing issue in the United States right now.

Precisely, which motivated Mechaman's interest in elucidating the matter.
