I will never elect a machine to do a human's job.

Do you support electronic voting machines in favor of traditional hand-counting of ballots?

Yes I support those, but there has to be a limit.

Okay, so you just invalidated your initial post.  Be careful when using absolutes.

Presumably he doesn't think counting ballots is a "human's job." But hey, whatever.

Sorry; It'd be a lot easier to explain in real life. I don't ever want to have a robot as my congressman or in any political position. I'm against the creation of self-aware AI.

I'm sure the apes were against the evolution of humanity.

If it's an advancement over our present state, then I am all in favor of it.

I suggest you look into the various local and state-level referenda in recent history on the issue of implementing electronic voting machines to replace counting ballots by hand.  Or to put it another way; the populace electing machines to replace humans to do a particular job.

1. Would this machine be Constitutionally eligible for election to the Presidency?
No

It would be rejected by humans - and allowing them to enter would mean they can vote, which would mean that you could manufacture voters - humans would never vote for an AI for this reason, but perhaps AI's would (if they were Constitutionally amended to be elligible).

Not a chanc (unless other AI's were allowed to vote - which they would otherwise the AI would be inelligibleto run).

I do not think we should create electable artificial intelligence.  I am not against creating bodies that we could download ourselves into... but I am very uncomfortable with AI.

Not to say we can't have AI that performs specific functions... but we need to take every precaution to keep it from getting out of control.
