The best places in many of these states are not on the coasts. I'll go with VA as I really like Richmond and inner DC suburbia. I would not under any circumstances live in Florida.

North Carolina with Virginia being a close runner up.

Virginia.  I prefer Florida's weather, but being a history nut -- Virginia is where it's at.  Actually I really love the Richmond area.

It's a toss up between Virginia, and North Carolina.

This is a hard choice.  All have their own charms.  Probably North Carolina... maybe South Carolina or Georgia.

South Carolina. Preferably Charleston.

I already live in North Carolina, it's a alright state, but not gonna stay here.

All would be good except Florida, which is one of my favorite states, but the peado problems and hurricane season scares me away.

Alexandria, Virginia. I don't want to live in the South actually, and thus Alexandria comes to mind. Smiley  Florida sucks, the whole friggin' thing - period.

North Carolina Smiley

If I had to leave NC, I would leave the South, so in this case, I'd take Arlington or Alexandria, Va.
