She'll be a good senator, but I don't think she has a valid shot at 2016.  Although, that's still 7 years away, so who knows?

If she gets the Senate seat in the appointment she will be Senator-for-life, per-se, and will rise quickly in the ranks. I doubt she would jump in that quickly, but it is definitely a possibility.

Caroline Kennedy is not qualified to be a U.S. Senator, let alone President.

She is a complete joke.

She will not even be appointed to the Senate.

That appointment will go to a qualified individual, Andrew Cuomo.

If Paterson is a complete idiot and appoints Kennedy, she will serve until the election, at which time Cuomo will proceed to kick her sorry butt from one end of New York state to the other.

No, she is absolutely not a viable contender,  not in 2016, or in any other year.

Sarah Palin is better qualified for President than is Caroline Kennedy, and  that's not saying much.

Even if she was appointed, she would probably lose the primary in 2010.

You really think so? She does have a decent approval rating at the moment and, after two years in the seat would probably only have a higher one. She will also have a massive fund-raising advantage and the support of the President.

She'd get kicked around so badly and I'd love every minute of it.

don't underestimate the power of big name like a Kennedy, I'm sure a lot of people thought that Hillary would never get elected when she ran for the seat 2000. RFK had limited qualifications/ties to the state. when he got elected in New York. New York is also an extremal democratic state.

I think Kennedy will most likely get re elected if she is appointed senator but I don't see her getting elected president in 2016. that's just based solely on my gut.

This is true because Kennedy is not a competent speaker and doesn't have the outgoing personality needed to make everyone love her as she campaigns 16 hours a day.

This is also true because Kennedy would get destroyed because she would still be a NYC socialite and not a senator.
