obviously. You love your post count, and you probably have like 500 posts in the signature threads alone.

I don't tend to participate in them, but I like the feeling of reassurance and continuity of their existance. Kind of like what Sir Humphrey says about Arts funding in that episode of Yes Minister... I can't find the clip, but the quote at the bottom of this wikipedia article is vaguely similar to what I remember being said:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Middle-Class_Rip-Off

Here are a couple of clips from the same episode:

And just because I love this one:

If we didn't have them, we'd probably have 42 or so "What do think of (my / somebody else's) signature?" at any one time.  In comparison the "preceding poster's signature" series is mostly harmless.  This way we don't have to fish out other threads among the babel.

This. Plus, it's an interesting diversion. Especially when I want to comment on someone's signature without diverting a thread and having later readers of that thread exclaim "WTF?!" due to the signature in question having changed.

I like them to get feedback whenever I change my signature. On the other hand, I would also like topics where you comment on the following poster's sig. Might yield some goldmine material. Wink
