Was Hawkeye funny?

No. He had to be the most unamusing troll ever. He wasn't even so bad he was good (like ghostmonkey or GoldenBoy can be.)

In a way he was like the _______ Movie equivalent of trolls. He had a complete unfunny formula:

_____ Movie: Hey look, it's a character from another movie! *gets hit in the head*

Hawkeye: *something "offensive" about some minority group or liberals*
That's it. No punchline or hint of ironic humor or anything.

     To his credit, he had the best comeback ever to a complaint about spelling errors.

Well, the first handful of seasons he wasn't too bad, but those last few...whoa, way to preachy for me.  Maybe he missed Radar?

I always got this creeping feeling that Hawkeye wasn't so much a joke as an emotional outlet.
