I've just recovered from a memory dump which wiped out much of a project I was working on. It's the second BSOD on this laptop so far.

Now I have to retrace what I did.

Ever? 5 or more, easily, since I've had PCs since Windows 3.11.

None with Vista, though.

I've had a few stop errors with Vista, not really a BSoD.  More than 5?  Probably, but just barely.

On Windows 9x, plenty of BSoDs

More than 5, since I've used PCs from 3.1 through XP. But I don't remember getting any since I started using XP.

Much much more than 5.  Anybody that used 98/ME for more than 10 minutes should have had 100's of them.

(actually once 98SE was fully patched it was fairly stable if you didn't do much with it.  The move to Win2k was a huge relief.  Still got BSoDs on occasion, but most of that was because of the sh**tty drivers for it for the first year or so it was out.  Vista/64 seems to be doing even worse in that regard....I assume.  I've avoided Vista like the plague.)

Anybody who has used a computer for more than one month has to say "at least 5 times."

Age of Empires did it like once a week for awhile on my older XP.

I've had PC's back to 1984. Yup, I've seen a few.

Believe it or not, never. Today I had to work with this poor woman though who had a bad install of iTunes that caused one whenever she synced (a frequent feature of the pile of sh!t known as Vista.) I was able to resolve the issue though. Smiley

Dozens of times.

In XP, though, only under one circumstance (that has happened several times) when I use very old peripheral hardware improperly.

It took me a while to figure out what BSOD stood for.  Tongue

To answer your question, way too many times.  However, I haven't had one in years.

On Vista the only time I ever seem to have it is occassionally when waking up from sleep mode, and the restart is fast enough that it isn't really a nuisance.
