I've come tot he conclusion this is probably the case.  This campaign has taught me that the vast majority of women my age don't care one iota, and my mother's dislike of both Hillary and Palin has shown that a good number of older women don't either. Those PUMA morons or blind feminist Hillary supporters are thankfully a very small minority.

Define "not care."  I think the majority (I hope) of Americans would like to have a female President, and harbor some sympathies toward that.  Are a majority of women desperate enough for this that just having X-chromosomes will drastically increase their chances of voting for a ticket?  No.

Yes, exactly. Basically, Palin is using her rights so that no other woman will be able to in the future. Think of Ronald Reagan's EPA being ordered to destroy itself.

The majority of women dont seem to care that some of our best "friends" don't let women vote, drive, leave home alone, etc; why would they care about this?  If one of our "friends" did that to black people we'd go ape sh**t, but it's just women.  They aren't important anymore.  (unless they are pretty, white and missing)

(and I've been doing great staying out of BRTD polls...this is my first one in a week!)

It's the same situation as when the GOP ran black candidates in OH and MD in 2006. Blacks want to see black candidates but they're not going to vote for somebody just because of race. I'll admit my partiality to Jewish candidates but there's no way I'd vote for Lieberman.

No.  I think they care, but they won't vote for Palin because of it.  But if a candidate and them agreed on enough issues, I think quite a few would switch over.

I'd say yes considering that most younger women have grown up pretty much equal, so they wouldn't really care about electing a woman to the White House.

Of course the answer is yes. Women are not in general air brains, despite what they say. At the margins, it might be a minor factor. And of course, there are exceptions.

Of course women don't care, but this should be obvious.  The only thing they care about is good food, occasional sex, and television.

Nah, they only care about being the center of attention.  Though I suppose most do like 'good' food and television.

But I do think that women are very harsh judges of other women.  Another way to put this is that sexism is just as dominant among women as men.  I'm not so sure that they'll automatically support female candidates.
