Why does living in a small town (<20,000) mean that there is nothing to do?  I can get in my car and within 20 mins I can get to about 10 malls, countless stores and restaurants, hundreds of outdoor activities, at least 30 fields/pakrs, and not to mention NYC

1. I'd prefer not to go through the hassle of owning a car.  Even if I did own a car, I'd prefer to walk places.  Cheaper and less of a hassle.

2. I don't much care for malls.

3. I generally think the stores and restaurants in the city are more interesting.

But I can see the appeal of the suburbs/small towns, just not my thing.
