For what it's worth, I'm actually more sympathetic than you might think to the idea of Internet-based polling. Something like 20 percent of Americans are cellphone-only now, and many others use all sorts of call screening technology that pretty much ensures that they will never be contacted by a pollster. Also, we add them crapy no-name polls from College all the time. But, of course these Internet-based polling are most likely not as good as some of the phone-based polling. But why not add them?

I agree.  In conjunction with this trend, we should start adding our own guesses to the polling database as well.

I mean Zogby Interactive poll for GA has McCain ahead by 6%, but the Insider Advantage has McCain ahead by 2%! If we added both of the Insider Advantages poll for GA, then why not added theses?

Ah, yes.  The mythical cell phone voter that was supposed to have turned up in 2004, giving Kerry a 20-point landslide.

You can take what you want from this data Zogby has. But from what I understand, these were not "polls" at all but votes. So I don't think they should be added to a polling database.

Not this year. But some online polls are very good. They work with panels and they poll always the same persons who are chosen to fit with demography.

But obliviously, this is not the case of Zogby.

I was secretly laughing when I saw Josh try to make those Zogby polls out as being accurate and somewhat legit.

I never said Zogby was accurate at all, I just trying to point out we add all these other no-name polling companys who show crazy results like that one poll we added for NY, that showed McCain ahead by 2% or even them SUSA VP ticket polls, which are crazy too.
