Barr (R)
I despise McCain and Obama for that matter.
I never thought I'd be going against the GOP but the time has come.
I can't support McCain and ignore a majority of my principles.

Let me ask you a simple question; If you had to choose, who would you prefer: McCain or Obama?

At this point, McCain.  It will take a lot for me to change my awful opinion of him.  I feel like he abandoned us in Congress.  Why should we give him a chance?
I need to see his VP.  That may make it easier for me to vote for him, if i like his running mate.
Let me reword your question though - Would you rather see the same policies come from McCain or Obama? I really feel like McCain will abandon the GOP once again if he would win.

I have to tell you something: I feel what you feel.  I understand that McCain is the lesser of evils, and that he isn't my favorite Republican.  The thing is that we have a lot on the line in this election, there is a candidate who wants to have nationalized healthcare and one doesn't.  One wants open borders and amnesty and one dosen't.  One wants more 2nd amendment rights and one doesn't.  I can go on and on, but in the end there is one candidate who is a hardcore leftist, and one is more moderate.

You have to understand that Bob Barr has absolutely no chance of winning the election.  John McCain does.

Likewise, your vote has absolutely no chance of influencing the election in any way whatsoever, so does it really matter if you vote for the lesser of two evils or if you vote on principle, or if you don't vote at all? Tell me when the last presidential election was where the winning candidate won the deciding state by one popular vote.

If everyone thought the same way as you did, it would make a huge effect.  Barr will probably get about 2 percent of the vote.  If 1% of those are disgruntled Republicans, who eventually decided to vote for Barr, it would make an effect in some states where the race is tight.  It could be just like the Democrats who voted for Nader in 2000.

I honestly do not know. One day I’m for McCain, the next for Barr. McCain was like my  political idol, I liked him in 2000 before I even knew anything about politics. I was hoping he’d get it back in 2004. But now my views have changed from 2000 or even 2004, I’m much more Libertarian, and I’m undecided. I’d hate to vote against the guy after eight years of cheering him on, but I don’t know. Give me a month.

Yes, but your individual vote will have no effect whatsoever regardless of the outcome of the election. However, if you campaign for a third-party candidate in a swing state, it is possible but unlikely that you will affect the election. Thus, if you do not plan on actively campaigning for McCain, then it doesn't matter who you vote for, because your endorsement/vote will be irrelevent. If you do plan on actively campaigning for McCain, you could choose either to be apathetic like most of us or you could campaign for McCain while personally voting for Barr. Either way, when you look at it with a cost-benefit analysis, there is no logical reason for voting for the lesser of two evils in a state or federal election.

Barack Obama (D)

Although, there could be much worse people than John McCain. I can honestly say both candidates are, at a minimum, acceptable.
