"The Nixon I remembered was absolutely humorless; I couldn't imagine him laughing at anything except maybe a paraplegic who wanted to vote Democratic but couldn't quite reach the lever on the voting machine."

There's a song title on the first Body Count album that sums up my feelings well.

So yeah, he's clearly a massive Freedom Fighter - and I haven't mentioned any of his actual policies...

I think that, like LBJ, he did a lot of good, but was at the same time deeply flawed. I'd put him above the median, as far as Presidents go. Below the median as far as human beings go. Tongue

Just a typical Republican president - a fascist.  Better however than Reagan or Bush Jr.

A horrible person, but he had quite an interesting personality, which can be said of only two other post-war presidents: Kennedy and Clinton.  And they too did not finish their terms normally.

Good point - and he was hilarious.  Those quotes GullyFoyle posted were very funny.  But you know that all other Republicans think that stuff, they just don't say it so colorfully.

I basically agree with that statement.

Nixon would have been a funny guy to chat with for an hour.
