Genuinely shocked that a MAJORITY of the GOP caucus are Putin bootlickers now. I don't know how this party manages to continually sink to new lows but somehow it keeps doing it. This party's descent into madness is threatening to drag the whole Western world down with it. They need to be eliminated as a political force.

Anyway, for today let's celebrate. This is a much needed respite for Ukraine and ensures that they have the means to keep fighting until at least January 2025. Of course, anything past that depends on the election this November.

I doubt most of them truly believe in being Putin bootlickers, but it shows how spineless they are.

I almost feel bad for them, being so beholden to a bunch of dumbass rubes. Almost.

According to The Hill coverage, the Israel aid bill passed 366:58.

So, four out of five -the one that did fail was the border security bill.  And it failed in the GOP-controlled House.

They’ll never take responsibility for it, it will be Democrats fault and I know there are a few that are going to push that hard on here.

Tlaib voted present on the Taiwan bill, the only Democrat to not vote yes. Very disappointing move from her, figured it would be Cori Bush if anyone.

Ew she's so gross. She honestly needs to be investigated for treason.

Yeah, I've defended her before but this would probably push me out of her camp were I in her district. She has a really interesting perspective on things and gets some unnecessary flak, but not supporting Taiwan aid is just sickening.

Supporting Taiwan aid is absolutely necessary. It's crazy how Republicans are so hawkish on China when it comes to xenophobic crap like banning TikTok, but when it comes to deter potential actual Chinese aggression that could lead to WWIII, a bunch of them vote no.

Voting against a bill isn't treason.

No, and my comment was tongue-in-cheek, but I would not be surprised if she was doing something shady behind the scenes. She clearly wants to see the downfall of the United States.

Divestment of TikTok from China isn’t a ban.

Tlaib is a typical example of a Glenn Greenwald/Jill Stein leftist: she resents the fact that the West won the Cold War and does everything she can to ensure its defeat in round two.

It's a ban if they don't divest.

It's difficult to dispute at this point that Tlaib is a softcore campist who just does not really love or even like this country. That's definitely a perspective that it's important to have in the public sphere, but I do not think Congress is the right place in the public sphere to have it.

I don't know what's going to happen or why it would happen but it is a ban in that case.

They only ban it if no deal is made to sell the app to another country.

Why is this a perspective that is important to have in the public sphere at all? I do appreciate your honesty in admitting that Tlaib clearly hates America.

A healthy democratic polity should have ways to weather harsh and even bad-faith criticism, and the best way to make sure it can do that is to allow that criticism to take place.

Thanks, but this isn't some huge concession from me; I've never been much of a fan or defender of hers.

Actually wild that Tlaib wouldn't vote for Taiwan aid, did she give a reason? I don't see how she could justify it in a way that satisfies me, but I'm at least curious what she has to say.
