Pleasantly surprised to see Battlestar Galactica getting the love it deserves. The election scene (linked) is great, and the push-and-pull between civilian and military government is one of the better threads from the late-first/early-second series - helped by the quality of the Adama-Roslin dynamic.
If you want an under the radar pick - Roadkill, with Hugh Laurie, and the late great Helen McCrory is an engaging, albeit bitterly cynical Westminster yarn.
A Very English Scandal captures the sheer lunatic chaos of the Jeremy Thorpe affair (pun very much intended). It appears to flatten Thorpe into a caricature, right until the final moments, when it reveals exactly why he (or, rather, their version of him) is like that.
