Both seem like weak candidates, but I think Masters is even worse given that he gives neo-Nazi, creep vibes and is excessively focused on the culture war (a lot like DeSantis). He can even be attacked on Social Security.

Also, Masters did 4 points worse than Lake in the same ballot in 2022.

This is a close one but Lake has been acting more unhinged than Masters lately. Gallego would be favored against both though

I think Lake this time around. I think Masters would try to run a less creepy campaign this time around, while Lake will run on “rigged election”.

Regardless of whether or not Lake acts more crazy than Masters (doubtful), Masters would still end up looking like a creep like he did in 2022 and I don’t have much confidence in him to not run ads like that weird one where he treated a gun like a pet. Lake, whatever you say about her, has a way with cameras and the media due to being a journalist, which is a prerequisite for being a good politician. Ranting about the “rigged election” may hurt her, but most of her voters were fully aware of her election denialism when they voted for you in both the primary and the general election. I am not sure why this is even a question.

It's 100% Kari Lake. Masters isn't significantly better, but he's seemed to have learned enough from his 2022 defeat to pursure a different strategy the second time around. I remember he talked about how Rs need to embrace vote by mail again, and since he already ran last year, he probably can analyze what worked and what didn't to make a better campaign overall.

On the other hand Kari Lake seems to have learned NOTHING from her loss. In fact, she has doubled down on the election stuff that literally no one wants to hear anymore. Even Trump has become quiet about it after 2021 because he learned its not worth mentioning if you want to be succesful politically. Meanwhile Lake is doubling down on the wrong things and is becoming super irritating. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

Regardless of your opinions of him, Masters is a very smart person. I think he would change his campaign in a way Lake would not.

As someone who used to be a fan of her, Kari Lake would fair far worse in a GE than Blake Masters.

Kari has gotten more and more insufferable since November 2022, and keeps doubling-down on the things that made her lose in the first place. Blake Masters, on the contrary, is a smart guy who can and will learn from his past mistakes and soften his image this time around.

"Which candidate would be worse in 2024 VA-SEN, Corey Stewart or Amanda Chase?"

Also, Masters did 4 points worse than Lake in the same ballot in 2022.

Two factors contributed to this, though:

1. A libertarian took over 2% in the Senate race, while no third party choice was available in the gubernatorial race (and I bet they would have done equally well, if not better).

2. Mark Kelly was a more formidable opponent than Katie Hobbs.

I’m honestly not sure who’s worse. But as others have said, either is a fairly horrible candidate. Masters, on a personal level, is less charismatic and appealing. Lake, meanwhile, is comparatively more deranged and slavish in her Trump worship/election denialism, but I guess I can see how someone may foolishly fall under her spell because she speaks with such conviction (lol)…

The difference is that both Masters and Lake actually have a significant chance of winning the primary and becoming the nominee, while neither Chase and Stewart do in Virginia.

Both nutty, insane, proven losers. Maybe Masters, Lake at least has some charisma.

Blake Masters is basically the Ron DeSantis to Kari Lake’s Trump.

No one likes Blake Masters. At least Lake has defenders.

AZ GOP needs to do a convention like the VA GOP.

Accidentally voted Lake; Masters quite easily would do worse.
