Georgia is rapidly trending left while PA is stagnant. The midterm environment was beneficial to R turnout in Georgia but beneficial to D turnout in Pennsylvania.

Hard to take eyes off the Shapiro D+15 topline in Pennsylvania.

No Dem in Georgia has been able to win more than a squeaker so far.

Almost surely Georgia with Trump, probably Pennsylvania with DeSantis, almost surely Pennsylvania with someone like Pence or Scott.

Georgia I think. Dems are starting to get a very high floor here in almost every federal statewide race. I don't think they fall below 48% here regardless of the environment. Cobb and Gwinnett need to stay in the 40-42% range for the GOP for them to have a chance to win statewide. If anything, they are continuing to swing left.

Still Pennsylvania for now. Georgia is less elastic.

Just to clarify, by "votes further left" do you mean "will vote by the D-R margin comparatively more favorable to the Dem nominee and comparatively less favorable to the GOP nominee" (i.e. which state will vote for the GOP nominee by a smaller margin if he wins both states, and which state will vote for the Dem nominee by a larger margin if he wins both states), or are you also asking about which state will be D-leaning relative to the other regarding candidates downballot, or which state will lean "left" relative to the other in regards to any initiatives or referendums that may appear on the ballot?

Status is different for both:

• Bellwether: Pennsylvania

• Realigned to the Democrats (beginning in 2020): Georgia

Election 2024, if it will end up a Democratic hold, can see one more cycle in which Pennsylvania is more Democratic than Georgia. But, in the next election cycle in which the presidency switches to the Republicans, Georgia will become more Democratic than Pennsylvania. Why? The next Republican presidential pickup winner will flip and carry bellwether Pennsylvania while the losing Democratic nominee will hold Georgia.

Pennsylvania if Biden wins, Georgia if Biden loses.
