FT, but not any better than the OTL Obama/Biden ticket was.

I think Vice President Gephardt probably could have beaten Trump in 2016 and extended the Democrats' reign on the WH, but he would have retired in 2016 and his VP or some other Democrat would have lost to Trump or Rubio in 2020....

Gephardt would have romped Trump in the Midwest, he was against NAFTA all along...PA/WI/MI, even Ohio and Iowa might have went his way, probably even Missouri.

I think from a geographical point of view it would've been even better since Delaware was safe anyways and Gephardt being on the ticket would've almost certainly delivered Missouri and kept some other states closer. On the other hand we might've lost Virginia in 2012 but that would've been nearly balanced by Missouri. It's weird to think of Missouri as being a swing state but Gephardt might've changed a few things, although I anticipate it would've gone to Trump in 2016.
