Credit.  I owe nobody anything and would prefer to keep it that way as much as I can.

Ditto - inclusive of student loans. Thanks to my co-op job I didn't have to taken any out and I'll still be gold once I graduate.

Yeah, I haven't had to take out any loans either because my parents were nice enough to start putting money aside into savings for that purpose when I was born.

My parents did that too, but it wasn't enough to last more than four semesters unfortunately.

Same - credit, although I don't usually give out loans either.  My parents also were really good about saving for my education, so I plan to never be in debt too.  Honestly, I don't really do much buying of stuff.

The secret to not getting into debt, really, is this arcane mysterious concept of "not buying things if you don't have the money to buy them with".

ooooooooooooooooooooo

scary

Well, credit card debt, at least.  Other stuff tends to be kind of harder to get around.

Excellent poll - it reveals the social class of the board very well.

I have a few thousand saved, and owe my Mom $20 I borrowed earlier this week, so, credit I guess. I do plan to get a credit card as soon as I turn 18 which I'll probably start using to build my own credit on little stuff like online purchases.

Yes, being homeless, not getting a college degree.. having no transportation.. these are all reasonable options.  The working class should stop their whinin.

You wouldn't believe how many things like gigantic TVs and whatnot I've seen people put on their credit card.  I'm not talking about the essentials.

Although there are many things you can do there to avoid debt as well, such as renting your accomodation, interspursing campus terms with work terms at college, and walking or taking the bus for transportation.  Debt doesn't have to be an inevitability unless you're lazy or really greedy.

I have no debt, except what is on my credit card and that paid off in full monthly.  Some months I don't use my master card.  I have one of those "premium" accounts at the bank.

My bankers call me "J. J."  Republicans and my landlord owe me money.  I just hit the powerball for $3.00.  I still roll change.

Good God, my life is screwed up.

So tell us, do your eyes actually turn into dollar signs when you see a wad of cash, or is that just a cartoon exaggeration?

Since I'm making money by going to college, I'm up a good bit, and that's how it'll stay.  Other than the house, my parents have absolutely no debt and never do, and that's how I plan on living.

Ignoring the usual student loans stuf, I'm not in debt to anyone or anything.
This is probably because I hate spending much money... while the idea of spending money that I don't actually have isn't something that's ever really appealed to me in any way at all...
